Its been twenty years since I qualified with a Diploma in Acupuncture from the Northern College of Acupuncture and I still feel inspired and privileged to practise a skill and discipline which can be of such benefit to so many people.

I primarily practise Traditional Chinese Medicine and I characterise my style as “simple”, straightforward and also intuitive. My focus is always to attend to what is most important to my clients and I see my role as supporting my clients to find ways of living as freely and as energetically as possible.

I am always happy to speak about your personal situation to help answer the question as to whether acupuncture might be appropriate for your needs. I have a western medical background from nursing at St. James University Hospital Leeds.

Other experience includes providing acupuncture for carers (MACA), 10 years working with substance users/ addiction issues (The Bridge Project Bradford) and working with different HIV/AIDS projects in Leeds and Wakefield (BEGIN, OUR project , Bridgeside/ Terence Higgins Trust ) plus a variety of other project work (eg Positive Care Programme Leeds).

I was affiliated for several years to the Zita West network for Reproductive Health which specialises in treating women and men with issues around fertility and assisted Conception (IVF).

I am currently participating in a DOH (Department of Health) funded research project about chronic neck pain which is comparing the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment against GP care and also use of the Alexander Technique. Hopefully the results of this trial being conducted by the University of York Health Sciences Department will lead to acupuncture treatment being included in the NICE guidelines for neck pain.

Traditional Chinese Medicine includes other techniques as well as acupuncture so my practise includes massage, moxibustion, cupping and exercise / lifestyle advice. I also practise EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), which involves tapping on acupuncture points, and Fengshui the ancient Chinese art of looking at and harmonising energy flow through our homes/business spaces.

I currently work at:

    Wednesday  9 am  – 3 pm
  • Leeds Complementary Therapy Centre, Leeds 16
